STATUS SINGLE BUT NOT FOR TOO LONG BY HEART YNGRID | 3 THINGS I'VE LEARNED FROM THE NOVEL
Good afternoon bookworms!
How's the weather in your area today? Here in our province it has been raining for all week. And it's a mood to curl up and read books, don't you agree?
So, today I will share with you the book that I have finished reading. It's entitled "Status: Single (But Not For Too Long)." It's a tagalog novel written by Heart Yngrid.
Heart Yngrid is one of my favorite Filipino romance author and some of my favorites novel of hers are Ten Sweet Dates and Campus Girl: Anikka, The Free Spirit from her St. Catherine University Series (SCU). And I'm gonna add the Status Single (But Not For Too Long) on the list.
What I love about this book is it focuses not only on the the romantic love between two people but also in healing and self-love. And we all need to hear this out! Whether you are single for a long period of time or short period of time, you will surely learn something from this novel.
Here are my takeaways:
3 THINGS I'VE LEARNED FROM STATUS: SINGLE (BUT NOT FOR TOO LONG) BY HEART YNGRID:
1. Embrace singlehood
Once you learn to embrace singlehood, you will realize that there is no wrong in being single... that you can still be happy even when you are single because happiness is not define by the relationship status. Yes being in a relationship is awesome but being single is awesome as well. It is an opportunity to discover your capabilities to do things on your own and with that, you will know your worth as an individual and you will less likely to settle for less than you deserve.
2. Appreciate the advantages of being single and enjoy the perks of it
When you see the advantages of being single, the society will have no power to tell you otherwise like being single is a sad status or to dictate you that should be in a relationship because you are on the marrying age.
When you see the advantages of being single, you will get to enjoy the perks of it. More me-time! A perfect time to do the things you’ve always said you will do if only you have more time. Read the book that you've always wanted to read, binge-watch the shows you've always wanted to watch, spend quality time with friends, travel to foreign cities and countries, meet new people.
There is nothing more liberating than living your life at your own pace.
3. You should not enter in a relationship when you are still broken
Every new couple should start with a clean slate. So, before you enter a new relationship... take your time and heal your wound first. You shouldn't let your new boyfriend fix you when you are broken. Fix yourself. You're the only one who should do that.
